Coins are the internal currency of Timely.ai. Each plan includes a monthly Credits quota, and actions performed by agents consume from that quota. When plan Credits run out, you can purchase extra packs without needing to change plans.

Credits are renewed automatically each billing cycle. Unused balance from the previous month is not carried over to the next period.

What consumes Credits

Consumption is calculated per action performed by the agent. The exact cost depends on the LLM model configured and the volume of tokens processed.

LLM consumption is calculated based on input and output tokens. Larger models have a higher cost per token, which increases the total Credits debited per interaction. The system rounds up (ceil) — a response costing 1.2 Credits debits 2.

How the balance is calculated

The available balance is the sum of two independent pools:
  • Plan Credits: renewed monthly according to the billing cycle
  • Extra Credits: purchased separately with no expiration date (they do not expire)
The system debits plan Credits first. When those run out, extra Credits are consumed. If both are at zero, agents stop processing new messages until a top-up or renewal.

Topping up Credits

To purchase extra Credits:

Go to Billing → Credits

On the Billing page, locate the Credits Balance card and click Buy Credits.

Choose the pack

Select the desired number of Coins. The price is displayed before confirming.

Checkout via Stripe

You are redirected to a secure Stripe payment session. The card already on file is used automatically if available, or you can enter a new one.

Credits added

After payment confirmation, Credits are added to the balance immediately — no need to wait for the cycle to close.

Low-balance alerts

Timely.ai sends automatic notifications when the Credits balance reaches the following thresholds:

Alerts arrive by email and as in-platform notifications. When the balance reaches zero, agents stop processing LLM messages until topped up — incoming channels continue to work, but the agent does not respond.

Tracking consumption

On the Billing page, the balance card displays:
  • Total available (plan Credits + extras)
  • Percentage consumed in the current period
  • Breakdown between plan Credits and extra Credits
  • Next cycle renewal date

Partner accounts

Companies with a partner plan have unlimited Credits and are not affected by monthly consumption limits. Total consumption is still recorded for audit purposes, but does not block agent operation.
If your agents’ monthly consumption consistently exceeds your current plan’s limit, consider upgrading before needing to top up — Credits included in the Professional or Enterprise plan are generally cheaper than frequent top-up packs.
